How it is calculated
One credit is one channel returned in one pull. Consumption therefore depends on how often you pull, how many channels you subscribe to, and how many wells run at once — not on how deep the well is or how many rows come back.

Common questions
One credit equals one channel returned in one pull from a WITSML server. A channel is a single data column — gamma ray, ROP or hookload, for example. If a pull returns a log with 15 curves, 15 credits are deducted. Row count and depth range do not affect the cost, so a deep well costs no more per pull than a shallow one.
Two levers, and pull interval is the stronger one. Moving from a 5-minute to a 30-minute interval cuts consumption six-fold, because pulls per month fall from 8,640 to 1,440. The second lever is selecting only the channels you actually steer on rather than subscribing to every curve the server offers. Both are adjustable at any time during operations.
WITSML pulls pause until you top up or your monthly allowance resets. Existing projects, imported data and conversation history are never affected. Top-up credits bought on demand do not expire, and monthly WITSML credits roll over for one billing cycle.
