Your AI Co-Pilot for Every Well.
GeoEngine™ is in development. When it ships it will monitor your well continuously, flag formation boundaries ahead of bit, and surface plain-language guidance — so your team makes faster, better decisions.
✓ Available on Pro and Enterprise plans when it ships✓ Will work with any WITSML 1.4.1.1/2.1 server
The Problem
Geosteering Still Runs on Reactive Decisions
Today's tools weren't built for real-time AI assistance. GeoEngine was.
12–18 hrs
NPT per missed formation top
Reactive geosteering — correcting trajectory after you have already exited the reservoir — costs the industry an average of 12–18 hours of non-productive time per event.
Manual
Log correlation today
Most geosteering decisions still rely on manual log correlation: a slow, expert-dependent process that struggles to keep pace with real-time drilling operations.
Generic
AI tools in oil & gas
Most AI tools deployed in oil and gas are generic language models. They do not understand WITSML curve names, formation terminology, or what those numbers mean at 3,000 m downhole.
How GeoEngine™ Works
From Raw Data to Plain-Language Guidance
Three stages — from your rig's WITSML feed to an actionable recommendation on your screen.
Ingest
GeoEngine streams WITSML 1.4.1.1/2.1 curves in real time — gamma ray, resistivity, inclination, ROP, and any custom channel your rig provides. LAS files and offline data are also supported.
Analyse
The AI applies your subsurface model, runs continuous anomaly detection across all active curves, and generates probabilistic formation boundary predictions — updated on every data pull.
Guide
GeoEngine surfaces plain-language recommendations with full reasoning — "the gamma ray spike at 3,412 m TVD suggests you are 4 m above the Brent top; consider a 1.5° build." No black boxes.
Key Capabilities
Everything GeoEngine™ Does for Your Well
Six AI capabilities working in parallel — from the moment your first WITSML curve arrives.
Real-Time Anomaly Detection
Flags parameter excursions and unusual curve behaviour before they escalate into NPT. GeoEngine monitors every active channel simultaneously and alerts your team the moment something looks wrong.
Formation Boundary Prediction
Predicts the depth and confidence interval of the next formation top using offset well data, seismic horizons, and current trajectory — so you can plan ahead rather than react.
Trajectory Correction Suggestions
Recommends dogleg adjustments to keep the well in zone, with full reasoning attached — what data drove the suggestion and what the expected formation response will be.
Natural Language Q&A
Ask "how far am I from the top of the Brent?" or "what does the resistivity trend suggest?" in plain English and receive a data-backed answer grounded in your project data — not a generic AI response.
Explainable AI
Every suggestion shows the evidence and the reasoning, not just a verdict. You always know why GeoEngine flagged something — and whether to act on it or override it.
Continuous Learning
GeoEngine improves its predictions over the course of a campaign as more well data arrives. The more it sees, the sharper its formation boundary estimates become.
Built for Subsurface
Not a generic AI. A subsurface AI.
GeoEngine™ is not a wrapper around a general-purpose language model that happens to know the word “formation.” It is specifically trained on subsurface geology and drilling operations data — WITSML object structures, curve naming conventions (DEPT, GR, RDEEP, RMED, DEVI, AZIM), formation terminology, and the operational context that makes those numbers meaningful.
When GeoEngine flags an anomaly or predicts a boundary, it is drawing on a model that understands why a rising gamma ray matters at this depth, in this trajectory, relative to this formation top — not just pattern-matching on tokens.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about GeoEngine™.
No. GeoEngine is a decision-support tool, not a replacement for geological expertise. It surfaces patterns and predictions that would take a human analyst much longer to compute, but all recommendations require a geoscientist to review, contextualise, and act on them. Think of it as a highly attentive co-pilot — one that never sleeps and never misses a curve excursion.
GeoEngine works with any WITSML 1.4.1.1 or 2.1 data feed, and with LAS files for offline or retrospective analysis. At minimum it needs a gamma ray or equivalent lithology curve alongside a trajectory. Formation boundary prediction improves significantly when offset well data and seismic horizons are available, but it will still flag anomalies and answer natural language questions with only a live WITSML feed.
Accuracy depends on the quality and quantity of offset well data and the geological complexity of your formation. In analogue-rich basins with good seismic, GeoEngine typically predicts formation tops within ±2–5 m TVD. In frontier areas with limited analogue data, uncertainty bands are wider and we are transparent about that. Every prediction comes with a confidence interval — we never give a number without the error bar.
No. Your project data is used only to answer your queries — it is never used to train or fine-tune GeoEngine's underlying models. Your well data is yours. It is encrypted at rest and in transit and is stored in EU/UK regions under UK GDPR. You can export or delete it at any time.
Yes. GeoEngine works on any well data regardless of when it was drilled. Import historical wells via LAS files or archived WITSML objects and GeoEngine will analyse them exactly as it would a live well. This is useful for post-well reviews, field analogue analysis, and training your team on past campaigns.
